The patients were selected from Ibn-Alnafis and Baghdad teaching hospitals. A blood sample was taken from each inclusion in the study via puncture of the antecubital vein, following a fasting period of at least 12 hours. The aliquots obtained were stored at -80ºC until analysis. Investigations included serum measurement of Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG) ,FreeTestosterone(FT), TotalTestosterone(TT), Lutueinizin Hormone(LT) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone(FSH), were measured in a specific radioimmune analysis test ( Beckman Coulter, France, Czech Republic) with using Gamma Counter Instrument.

The results showed high levels of SHBG hormone in patients with HF (41.46±2.79) nM with a significant difference from that in the control group (33.23±1.87) nM.
