As part of its continuous endeavor to improve the academic and professional reality of medical and laboratory staff, and within its sober scientific curriculum, the Continuing Education Unit at the college of Health and Medical Techniques organized an intensive specialized training course entitled: “applying comprehensive quality standards and quality control (QC\/QA) in microbiology and immunology laboratories”, on October 6 and 7, 2026.<\/p>\n
The course was attended by Dr. Haider Ahmed Kazim, who presented a comprehensive academic and applied presentation aimed at enhancing the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results, and highlighting the latest international practices in controlling the quality of medical tests.<\/p>\n
The course aimed to achieve a package of accurate scientific outputs, which were distributed on the following main points:<\/p>\n
Laying the scientific foundations for quality assurance and control (QA\/QC): the course provided a detailed rooting of the concepts of total quality in the laboratory work environment, focusing on strict standard criteria for the acceptance and rejection of clinical samples, to ensure that the accuracy of the diagnosis is not affected by any external factors or errors in the collection of samples.<\/p>\n
Implant monitoring and allergy tests: the lectures included advanced training on Culture Media quality controls and standardization of protocols for antibiotic allergy tests (AST), which contributes to guiding doctors towards accurate and effective treatment of patients.<\/p>\n
Management of immunological and serological examinations: the controls governing the immunological and serological analysis processes were intensively highlighted, emphasizing the crucial importance of using standard control samples (Controls) as a basic reference for Calibrating Devices and validating laboratory reactions.<\/p>\n
Analysis and correction of laboratory errors: the course provided participants with high analytical skills to accurately distinguish between “random analytical errors”that may occur accidentally, and” systematic errors ” that require radical intervention in the work environment or calibration of devices, while developing scientific strategies to reduce both types.<\/p>\n
This scientific event comes as a reflection of the vision of the college of Health and Medical Techniques represented in the graduation and development of health cadres with the highest degrees of competence and professionalism, and the application of academic and institutional accreditation standards that ensure the provision of health care based on error-free diagnostic results.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
