About the College

The College of Dentistry at Al-Bayan University was established in 2017. It aims to prepare dentists equipped with the scientific knowledge and clinical skills required to practice the profession efficiently and with high ethical standards.

The College follows a five-year annual academic system, leading to a Bachelor’s Degree in Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery. It is also committed to keeping pace with modern advances in dentistry, particularly digital technologies and artificial intelligence, while promoting scientific research, clinical training, and community service.

To achieve leadership in education and scientific research at the national and international levels, keep pace with modern technologies and artificial intelligence, and ensure high-quality oral and dental healthcare.

Mission

The College of Dentistry believes that oral health is an integral part of general health. It seeks to improve the quality of life in the community through advanced educational programs, the effective utilization of artificial intelligence technologies, and the preparation of a new generation of inspiring dentists who uphold high professional and ethical standards.

Objectives

1. To provide distinguished educational programs that develop students’ scientific and clinical skills and reinforce high standards of professional ethics.
2. To support scientific research and innovation in order to advance dental treatments and technologies and provide specialized, high-quality healthcare to patients.
3. To enhance the effectiveness of the educational process through the use of modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence applications and diagnostic and treatment software, while promoting the principles of sustainable development.
4. To promote communication and mutual understanding among students and members of society from diverse cultures and backgrounds, while upholding the values of justice and social equality.

Program Outcomes

The College of Dentistry awards a Bachelor’s Degree in Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgeryupon successful completion of the academic program and the required practical and clinical training over five years.

The program aims to graduate dentists who are able to:

1. Possess the essential scientific and clinical knowledge required for the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of oral and dental diseases.
2. Make appropriate clinical decisions and develop treatment plans based on sound scientific principles.
3. Provide dental care and treatment to patients of different age groups, including children and older adults.
4. Perform various dental treatments and manage both fixed and removable dental prostheses.
5. Utilize modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence applications as supportive tools in diagnosis and treatment planning.
6. Adhere to the ethical principles of the dental profession while safeguarding patients’ rights, safety, and privacy.
7. Assume professional responsibility and work effectively as part of the healthcare team.
8. Contribute to raising health awareness and promoting the prevention of oral and dental diseases within the community.
9. These outcomes are based on the knowledge, skills, and value-based learning outcomes specified in the current academic program description.

Program Accreditation

The College of Dentistry program received full program accreditation pursuant to Ministerial Order No. 5504 (J.D./A), dated 18 August 2025.

Scientific Departments

The College of Dentistry comprises three main scientific departments:

• Basic Sciences Department

This department includes the fundamental scientific and medical courses that provide the essential foundation for dental education, such as Biology, Medical and Biochemistry, Medical Physics, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, and Computer Science.

• Dental Sciences Department

This department includes courses and specialties directly related to dental sciences and preclinical and clinical training, including Dental Anatomy, Prosthodontics, Operative and Esthetic Dentistry, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, and other dental disciplines.

• Surgery Department

This department covers a range of medical and surgical courses related to Head and Neck Anatomy, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and other related clinical sciences.

Acceptance Criteria

Admission is based on the student’s grade average after completing the sixth preparatory ministerial exam, with selection being made by the Ministry of Higher Education and other channels approved by the ministry.
