Established in 2023, the College of Education currently has one department: the Department of English. This department provides a comprehensive program leading to a Bachelor’s degree in English Language. As a nascent department in Al-Bayan University, it currently boasts 333 students in the first year.

Department of English
The Department of English at Al-Bayan University, which was founded in 2023, offers a bachelor’s in the English language and Education at the undergraduate level. We include a variety of subjects that focus mainly on linguistics, literature, translation, and pedagogy. In addition to these subjects, we deliver seminars and workshops related to education and the English language throughout the academic year.
Objectives
We aim to help our students to achieve the following objectives during their journey in the Department of English:
- Enhance our students’ skills in both spoken and written English.
- Gain pedagogical expertise to embark on teaching as a lifelong vocation.
- Attain critical research skills to enrich the understanding of EFL education.
- Adhere to ethical standards in educational environments.
- Cultivate a global mindset, recognizing classroom and societal diversity.
Career Paths
When a student graduates from the Department of English at the College of Education with a bachelor’s in English language, he/she can work as:
- An English teacher at secondary schools
- A translator or interpreter
- A language trainer at language centers
- An editor in publishing houses
