From Paper to Reality: How the New Law Can Transform Human Life
The College of Nursing organized a scientific seminar titled “From Paper to Reality: How the New Law Can Transform Human Life,” aimed at shedding light on the Personal Code.
This event was conducted within the framework of the College’s efforts to enhance legal awareness among its staff and members, particularly regarding laws that impact daily human life, the family, and society.
The seminar was delivered by:

•⁠ ⁠Assistant Lecturer Iman Abbas Fadhil
The speakers presented a comprehensive overview, characterized by depth and fluidity, in which they addressed common issues and inquiries regarding the Code, while highlighting its philosophy and the rationale behind its drafting.
The seminar included a discussion of the following points:
1.⁠ ⁠Clarifying Misconceptions:
Dispelling ambiguities surrounding the aforementioned Code by explaining its most prominent legal concepts and outlining the areas it aims to address or develop.
2.⁠ ⁠Defining Legal and Social Dimensions:
Reference was made to the Code’s impact on family structure, as well as women’s and children’s rights, illustrating how modern amendments can contribute to improving the quality of life.
3.⁠ ⁠Benefits of Adopting the New Law:
The discussion touched upon the merits of modern legal amendments and their impact on promoting justice and developing the legislative framework in alignment with societal needs.

Recommendations
The seminar concluded with a set of recommendations aimed at consolidating societal awareness of legislative developments, namely:
1.⁠ ⁠Organizing additional introductory seminars to highlight the dimensions of the Personal Status Code and simplify its concepts.
2.⁠ ⁠Distributing brochures and providing informative materials to explain the significant and less apparent aspects of this law.
3.⁠ ⁠Disseminating awareness via social media regarding the most important amendments in the Code, particularly those that serve the best interests of the mother and the family.
