Within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation between academic institutions and the health sector, and in implementation of sustainable health education programs, the College of Nursing at Al-Bayan University, in collaboration with Al-Karkh Health Directorate in Baghdad /Al-Bayaa Health Center, organized a scientific awareness lecture coinciding with World AIDS Day. The session was titled: “Overcoming Service Interruptions and Transforming the AIDS Response Path.”
The event took place in the College’s Continuing Education Hall, featuring a lecture delivered by Dr. Maysam Diaa Younis. The session highlighted the current challenges facing the sustainability of health services provided to patients and discussed methodological mechanisms for developing an effective response to ensure uninterrupted care. Furthermore, the scientific presentation addressed key prevention pillars and the importance of elevating community awareness to curb the spread of communicable diseases.
These scientific activities embody the College’s commitment to addressing community health issues and its diligent pursuit of bridging the gap between academic theoretical knowledge and practical field reality.
Key Outcomes of the Lecture:
• Enhancing Preventive Awareness: Introducing the latest globally approved protocols for AIDS prevention and mitigating transmission risks.
• Sustainability of Health Services: Emphasizing the necessity of establishing contingency plans to ensure the continuity of therapeutic services for patients during crises or resource shortages.
• Activating Community Partnership: Consolidating the concept of shared responsibility between the educational institution and health centers in disseminating health education and combating the social stigma associated with the disease.
