Based on the mutual desire to enhance cooperation between the University of Babylon on the one hand and Al-Bayan University, where the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding for scientific and research cooperation, this memorandum was signed by Prof.

Article one:

Objective: The memorandum of understanding aims to take advantage of the cooperation between the two parties and the exchange of opinions and research information in the journals of interest to both parties.

Article two:

Areas of cooperation: Cooperation between the two parties is carried out in the following areas:

  1. Exchange of research and studies issued by both parties.
  2. Preparing joint studies or research to be carried out by the researchers of the two parties, according to a plan agreed upon in advance.
  3. Cooperation in holding workshops, seminars, and conferences in areas of common interest.
  4. Cooperation in books, bulletins, statistics, and other available information.
  5. Allocating seats for postgraduate studies (higher diploma – master’s – doctorate) and according to the regulations.
  6. The work of development projects with strategic and modern dimensions, the topics of which are agreed upon in a manner that serves both parties.
  7. The laboratories of the two universities are used for training students and faculty members and conducting research, based on direct coordination between the deanships of the corresponding faculties in the two universities.

Article Three:

The two parties hold annual meetings at the level of the heads of the two institutions to review the achievement of the goal and develop the memorandum if necessary.

Article Four:

In the event of canceling the memorandum or suspending its work, the two parties agree to continue the joint studies and programs that are being started and are being implemented until they are completed under the agreed terms.

Article Five:

This memorandum does not have any legal or financial impact on either party, and the activities mentioned in the previous articles are implemented following the framework of the sincere intention of cooperation, and if any of the mentioned activities requires financial commitments, they are agreed upon in advance.

Article Six:

This memorandum shall enter into force from the date of its signature by the two contracting parties and shall remain in force for a period of three years, automatically renewable unless one of the parties submits a written request to terminate it six months before the date of its enforcement.

Article Seven:

Any party has the right to terminate the memorandum of understanding with a written notice to the other party if the latter violates what was stipulated in the deliberation and did not remedy the defect despite being notified in writing.

Article Eight:

The memorandum cannot be amended or reconsidered except with the agreement of the two contracting parties and in writing.

Article nine:

Disputes arising from the application or interpretation of the memorandum are settled by direct agreement between the two parties, and in the case of failure to reach a friendly solution is the formation of a coordination of the parties.
