Under the sponsorship of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Saheb, along with the supervision of the President of Al-Bayan University Prof. Dr. Abdul-Jabbar Ahmed, the vice president for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Entisar Al-Tai, the vice president for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Talib Al-Amara, and the deans and staff members of Al-Bayan University, the first virtual global scientific conference was held under the slogan (Scientific Research is Our Way to Facing Challenges). The conference took place on Sunday 3/10/2021 marking (The Role of Scientific Research in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals).

The conference witnessed a large and wide participation by professors of public and private universities from outside and inside Iraq. The sessions prepared for the conference covered 15 scientific researches that were presented.

This conference comes in order to introduce sustainable development and the extent to which it is necessary. It also focuses on drawing a sustainable future vision through scientific research, as well as developing plans that are in harmony with the United Nations Development Program by transferring scientific research from the theoretical side to the practical side in a way that contributes to the service of humanity.

It is worth noting that Al-Bayan University will publish the participating research papers in a special issue of Al-Bayan Scientific Journal.
