The College of Nursing at Al-Bayan University is one of the colleges of the medical group and accepts graduates of the preparatory school (the scientific branch) and graduates of nursing academies with specific rates and the duration of the study is four years. Our health institutions from the Iraqi centers and hospitals suffer from a shortage of nursing staff. To meet the need, the university decided to open the college with the availability of specialized teaching staff, classrooms, and private nursing laboratories, which include the nursing basics laboratory, the adult laboratory, and the Maternal and Child health laboratory. The college’s first group of students graduated in the academic year 2020-2021.

Preparing professionally qualified nurses according to a modern scientific vision that enhances in them research values that are consistent with the concepts of development and sustainable education.

Mission

Preparing nurses with advanced qualifications and behavioral skills that serve the concepts of sustainable development and are capable of providing comprehensive nursing care to all members of society in the preventive, clinical, and rehabilitative fields and treating health problems to achieve community health, and for the college to be a center for nursing education and training and applications of scientific research.

Objectives

  1. Preparing qualified nurses with comprehensive nursing skills and knowledge to work in all health institutions in various preventive, curative, and rehabilitative nursing fields for the individual, the family, and the community.
  1. Enabling researchers, including faculty members and students, to keep up with and use modern research methods in completing scientific research.
  2. Developing the capabilities of faculty members and students by using modern technology in education and updating curricula in a way that achieves the concepts of sustainable development.
  3. Enabling students to provide high-quality nursing services to all categories of society without discrimination or bias.

Outputs

The Faculty of Nursing is awarded a bachelor’s degree in nursing sciences after completing the student (140) units of study for four years, most of which are taught in English, where the student studies various nursing, medical and humanitarian courses to qualify him to practice the nursing profession for all sectors and health and educational institutions.
