1- Purpose:
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Encourage reporting of all known or suspected instances of misconduct or discrimination in Al-Bayan University, including but not limited to: age, disability, race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, and nationality.
- Inform reporters about the protections available to them.
- Deter anyone inclined to cause detriment to a person perceived to have made a report.
2- Policy:
Al-Bayan is committed to, and all academic staff, employees, and students in the university, have the responsibility to:
- Comply with all applicable Iraqi laws and regulations and the university’s internal rules and policies; and
- Act in a socially responsible manner with the highest ethical standards in the “Conduct Policy”.
- The “Conduct Policy” is attached to university order no. 623 in 25-09-2021.
- Any questions or concerns about the “Conduct Policy” should be directed to the Legal Department.
3- Procedure:
- Under this policy, a current or former staff member/a current or former employee/ a current student/ a graduate can make a report.
- A report may be protected by this policy if it has reasonable grounds to suspect information regarding misconduct and/or discrimination.
- A reporter who is an employee or staff member shall make a report to his/her supervisor or any higher level supervisor. If not comfortable with reporting to his/her supervisor or higher level supervisors, a complaint can be made to the Legal Department.
- A student or a graduate shall make his report to the Legal Department.
4- Information Protection:
The University will take the necessary steps to protect the confidentiality of the complainant making report. However, the university may reveal the information which is likely to lead to the identification of the Complainant (but not disclose his identity) to the extent necessary to investigate the matter.
