As part of Al-Bayan University’s activities for the academic year 2023-2024, the Engineering Technical College organized a scientific workshop titled “Calculation of Thermal Effects of Electromagnetic Waves on the Human Body.” The workshop was conducted by Dr. Saif Baraa Mohammed, a lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering Technologies, on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024. The workshop addressed the effects of electromagnetic waves on the human head, methods for calculating the specific absorption rate of the body concerning these waves, precautionary measures to be taken by biomedical engineering technicians when using medical devices to prevent the harmful effects of these waves, and identification of their types. The workshop was attended by the college dean, administrative staff, department heads, faculty members, and concluded with constructive discussions aimed at benefiting undergraduate students at the college.
