As part of the ongoing academic and developmental activities organized by the College of Nursing at Al-Bayan University, the Graduate Rehabilitation Unit held a specialized scientific seminar entitled:
“Professional Development After Graduation – Bridging Academic Education and Practical Application.”
The seminar took place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Continuing Education Hall of the college.
The seminar was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Buthaina Basheer Saleh, faculty member at the College of Nursing, Teaching assistant Assistant Ibrahim Talib Sahib.
The session addressed the importance of the post-graduation stage as a pivotal phase in a university student’s life and emphasized professional development as a bridge linking academic knowledge with practical application in the labor market.
The seminar focused on enhancing the awareness of graduating students about how to prepare for their professional careers, the challenges they may encounter when transitioning into the workplace, and the key skills required for success in healthcare institutions and the broader job market.
Key Outcomes of the Seminar:
1. Emphasizing the importance of early career planning for final-year students.
2. Highlighting the practical and behavioral skills required in the healthcare job market.
3. Encouraging students to benefit from the programs and training courses offered by the Graduate Rehabilitation Unit.
4. Promoting collaboration between the college and healthcare institutions to provide suitable training opportunities for graduates.
5. Reaffirming the vital role of Graduate Rehabilitation Units in shaping students’ professional paths.
The seminar witnessed active participation from several faculty members and students. It concluded with an open discussion session enriched by questions and contributions that fostered engagement and deepened understanding of the seminar’s themes and future objectives.
