As part of its commitment to achieving sustainable development and reducing dependence on traditional energy sources, Al-Bayan University has implemented an integrated solar energy project aimed at lowering electricity consumption across its campus buildings.
The university has been supplied with 1,800 amperes of electrical power through an advanced solar panel system installed on the rooftops of university buildings — marking a pioneering step toward clean energy transformation among Iraqi universities.
This project aligns with the university’s broader strategy to support renewable energy initiatives and enhance energy efficiency, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy.
The university’s presidency emphasized that this initiative represents the beginning of a new phase of smart infrastructure projects, through which Al-Bayan University aims to build a green and sustainable campus environment that contributes to environmental protection and the reduction of carbon emissions.
