The Women’s Affairs Unit organized an awareness lecture on basic civil defense principles in the Continuing Education Hall of the College of Health and Medical Techniques at Al-Bayan University. Lec. Sarah Abdullateef Kadhim, a lecturer from the Dialysis Techniques, delivered the lecture. The lecture highlighted several areas, most notably:
1-the importance of the readiness of institutions and individuals in dealing with emergency situations and the role of alarm systems.
2-monitoring of hazards and rapid reporting to avoid disasters and reduce human and material losses.
3-periodic inspection of emergency equipment.
4-educating students about the importance of emergency equipment in all halls of the university, such as classrooms and educational laboratories in particular, and in hospitals and all institutions in general
The lecture also dealt with a practical explanation of the basic civil defense principles such as firefighting, evacuation, first aid, and how to behave properly when sirens are heard, stressing the need for cooperation between citizens and civil defense to ensure the safety of everyone.
The lecture concluded with an invitation to those present to promote a culture of awareness and public safety, and to actively participate in training courses and workshops that contribute to the protection of lives and public property during emergencies.
