To promote a culture of sustainability and support extracurricular environmental activities, students from the College of Nursing at Al-Bayan University (Abdul Rahman Humaid Jawad and Karrar Khalil Khudair) participated in a specialized workshop titled “Green Gold Farm.”
The workshop was held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in the Al-Basateen district. It was part of the “Friends of the Planet” initiative, organized by the university’s Department of Student and General Activities, in cooperation with the Human Rehabilitation Society for Education and Health.
The workshop comprised two main components: The first was theoretical, consisting of a scientific lecture on organic fertilizers. This lecture covered their definition, types, benefits, and their vital role in soil improvement and environmental preservation. The second component was practical, involving a field tour of the farm supervised by agricultural specialists. During the tour, students observed the practical mechanisms for recycling waste and converting it into environmentally friendly organic fertilizers.
This active participation is part of Al-Bayan University’s efforts to support environmental and awareness-raising activities, and to develop the practical and cognitive skills of its students, consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
