The Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) of the College of Nursing at Al-Bayan University held its inaugural meeting for the 2025-2026 academic year on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The significance of this meeting stems from the College’s continuous efforts to develop its academic curricula and align its outcomes with the actual needs of the job market in the healthcare sector. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Wafaa Mohammed Attoof, and was attended by the IAB members from within the College and representatives of relevant professional and industrial institutions.
The meeting witnessed discussions on several key axes, most notably:
1. Adoption of the Bologna Process Track
• Reviewing the College’s plan for implementing the Bologna Process educational track for the undergraduate level.
• This implementation aims to update course curricula, unify academic standards, and achieve international recognition for the awarded degrees.
2. Activation of Professional Collaboration
• Following up on procedures to activate joint scientific and academic cooperation mechanisms with both the Syndicate of Nursing and the Nursing Affairs Department at the Ministry of Health.
• This collaboration is designed to facilitate knowledge exchange, provide students with advanced practical training opportunities, and ensure the alignment of acquired skills with national professional quality requirements.
The Board adopted the necessary recommendations regarding the follow-up of the executive procedures for the discussed axes. It stressed the necessity of continued effective coordination between the academic institution and professional bodies to graduate highly qualified nursing cadres.
