Al-Bayan University received a high-level academic delegation from Wuhan University, China, headed by Prof. Dr. Dong Xuzhu, Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Automation, along with several senior university officials. The official visit aimed to explore avenues for academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions and to exchange expertise in higher education and research.

During the visit, an expanded meeting was held with the leadership of Al-Bayan University, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Haider Talib Al-Amarah, the representative of the founding body, Dr. Ziyad Kazem Jabr, the Vice Presidents for Academic and Administrative Affairs, and a number of college deans, alongside the visiting delegation. The meeting included a comprehensive overview of Al-Bayan University—its colleges, academic programs, and vision for advancing the educational process in line with international standards. The delegation was also introduced to Wuhan University and its distinguished academic and research standing at the international level, noting that Wuhan University is ranked 81st in the Shanghai Ranking and is considered among the top ten universities in China.

The two sides discussed preliminary agreements regarding the potential signing of future twinning and memorandum of understanding (MoU) arrangements. These would encompass collaboration in joint scientific research, training opportunities for students and faculty members, the provision of postgraduate study opportunities (master’s and doctoral programs), the development of academic curricula, and the organization of scientific conferences and workshops—initiatives that would contribute to enhancing educational quality and opening new horizons for students and researchers.

Al-Bayan University’s administration affirmed that the visit forms part of its strategic approach to expanding its international relations network and building academic partnerships with reputable global universities, in step with worldwide scientific advancements and in service of Iraq’s educational mission.For its part, the Wuhan University delegation expressed its appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality, and conveyed its eagerness to strengthen mutual cooperation with Al-Bayan University in a manner that achieves shared benefits and contributes to the advancement of scientific research and higher education.
