Reflecting its mission to promote human and legal values within academic circles, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Nursing, Al-Bayan University, organized a scientific seminar titled: “Democracy and Human Rights.” The event took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Continuing Education Hall within the college.
The seminar was presented by the faculty member, Dr. saad abdul-ridh jissir, who explored the philosophical and legal foundations of the relationship between democratic systems and the protection of human rights. The seminar addressed the importance of fostering legal and rights-based awareness among students and academic staff, as well as the role of educational institutions in consolidating the principles of justice, equality, and public freedoms in accordance with international conventions and national laws.
