The College of Health and Medical Techniques/continuing education unit organized a specialized training course on how to test blood groups and the Rh factor, which was given by lecturer Abeer Saad Hussein, lecturer duha Abdul Mohsen muzahem and lecturer Rafal Yousef Salman. ABO and Rh blood group testing is one of the most important basic laboratory tests in the medical field, as it plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of blood transfusions, donation, and surgeries, in addition to its great importance in the follow-up of pregnancies. This examination is based on the determination of the type of blood group within the ABO system, which includes the types (A, B, AB, O), along with the determination of the Rh factor, which classifies the blood into positive or negative. The importance of this test lies in reducing the risk of serious immune reactions that may result from an incompatible blood transfusion, as well as its contribution to medical diagnosis and making appropriate therapeutic decisions. Therefore, the examination of blood groups is an essential step in modern healthcare and an effective way to preserve the life and safety of patients.
