As part of the University of Al-Bayan’s commitment to raising awareness of women’s issues and promoting their economic and professional empowerment, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Education held an awareness seminar entitled “Challenges and Barriers Facing Women in the Private Sector” on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, attended by a number of female faculty members and students.

The seminar aimed to highlight the major challenges women encounter in private-sector workplaces and examine the social, economic, and professional barriers that may limit their effective participation in the labor market. It also addressed possible approaches to expanding women’s professional opportunities, promoting equal opportunities, and ensuring equality in rights and responsibilities.

The seminar was delivered by Dr. Israa Baqir Jaafar Al-Kadhimi, who discussed the topic from an awareness-raising perspective, emphasizing the importance of women’s economic and professional empowerment and strengthening their role across various fields of work and production, thereby contributing to their effective participation in community development.
