Stemming from its pioneering role in community service and promoting health awareness, the College of Nursing at Al-Bayan University, in joint cooperation with the Iraqi Medical Students’ Association, organized a scientific symposium and an extensive awareness activity, in the presence of the Dean of the College and the Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs.
The activities took place at “Bayt Al-Jamal” in the Al-Qishla area on Al-Mutanabbi Street, on Monday, October 26, 2026. The event included a scientific lecture delivered by faculty member Dr. Wissam Essam Abdul-Masih, entitled: (Journey Towards Awareness: Women’s Health and Cancer Prevention).
The event highlighted the most prominent types of cancers affecting women, identifying their warning signs and associated symptoms, while emphasizing the critical importance of early detection in improving treatment chances and reducing complications. In the same context, the college’s students and teaching assistants, with the participation of members of the Iraqi Medical Students’ Association, took the initiative to distribute educational brochures to citizens and visitors on Al-Mutanabbi Street.
This initiative comes as part of the continuous efforts of the College of Nursing at Al-Bayan University to enhance its community role, consolidate the culture of prevention, and build a more conscious society; believing that “awareness is the beginning of prevention, and early detection can save a life; together for women’s health and a more conscious society.”
