About the Department:
The Department of Networks and Cybersecurity is a modern and essential academic department vital for fortifying institutions across both private and public sectors. With rapid technological advancement, electronic devices of all types have become an integral part of daily life. However, they are increasingly vulnerable to espionage, monitoring, and the theft of sensitive data and privacy—affecting individuals, private enterprises, and government bodies alike.
Therefore, Al-Bayan University strives to qualify specialized personnel capable of mitigating cyberattacks, identifying vulnerabilities, and securing systems and networks. This is achieved by training students in computer networks and their underlying technologies, management systems, threat mitigation, and future attack prevention. Furthermore, the program prepares students in various cutting-edge fields aligned with modern technological progress, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless networks, cryptography, distributed systems, and more.
Vision:
Networks and Cybersecurity Engineering is a modern technological discipline that protects systems, networks, and software from cyber threats. By integrating network engineering with cybersecurity engineering, this specialty focuses on protecting data in all its forms during transmission, processing, and storage across networks.
The duration of study in the department is four years, during which students gain knowledge in diverse topics including electrical and electronic circuits, databases, web design, and artificial intelligence. The curriculum is continuously updated to keep pace with the latest developments and labor market demands in cybersecurity fields.
